Exploring Lough Corrib
Many a day can be spent either exploring its beauty in one of our own clinker built boats, or visiting the island of Inchagoil with its 5th and 12th century ruins.
Lough Corrib stretches from deep in the mountains of Connemara right to Galway city, where the first canal in Ireland was cut in the 12th century. Known as the Friar’s Canal, it allows boats to travel from Lough Corrib to the sea at Galway Bay.
Other attractions include the village of Cong, best known as the location for the 1951 movie “The Quiet Man”.
We can organise cruises on the Lough, or else why not use one of our boats to gently explore its majesty on your own, perhaps with a fishing rod and bottle of wine chilling as you drift.
