Food at Currarevagh

Currarevagh Guesthouse prides itself on its unique and individual character, and this is very evident in its delicious food. Mindful of its Irish roots and a history steeped in providing hospitality to guests over hundreds of years, we provide a food experience you will not find elsewhere.

With a cuisine based on fresh, local produce, Currarevagh Guesthouse has gained many accolades in the better known hotel and food guides, as well as the international press.

Breakfast is a lavish affair true to its Edwardian roots. Each morning this feast is laid out on the dining room side board, with freshly squeezed juice, Full Irish Breakfast including locally produced sausages, pudding and bacon; honey roast ham and selection of cheeses; our daily baked soda bread, croissants and crust-less toast, home made marmalades and muselies are specialities. Everything you can wish for to keep you going for the day.

Afternoon Tea is a well known ritual enjoyed by many. Served in the drawing room a selection of teas are available, along with our own fruitcakes, sponge cakes and seasonal specialities. Cucumber sandwiches, hot drop pancakes, and scones of many varieties all feature. Afternoon Tea from 4.30pm to 6.00pm is not to be missed and only for residents.

Each evening a five course dinner is served. Our focus is on classically simple menus based on fresh, local produce. The menu changes daily to reflect the seasons and what is available; main courses are silver-served by our ever-friendly staff so you may take how much you want!

Currarevagh Guesthouse is fully licensed to sell wines, spirits and beers to residents. Our unique hatch bar provides for guests a well selected wine list, vintage ports, many varieties of whiskeys and a full array of spirits. Cocktails can be prepared on request.
